Anyone watching the show Behind the Bullet? I hate Jake even more. Man up, compete on your skills and leave gracefully if you can't hack it. He is a miserable human being.

indeed.

Anyone watching the show Behind the Bullet?

Just finished watching it, definately interesting

Actually, it would only have to go 9 seasons to have an "all star"show ( 8 seasons X top 2 shooters )

Personally, I would like to see a show featuring the first two that were eliminated, just to see how many of them really ARE that good but lost simply due to a bad day at the range.

Season 4 coming spring 2012!!!!

Barring Jake, this was a good season leaving me with only one request for future shows: Quit throwing stuff. Not knives, not tommyhawks, certainly not ROCKS.
This is Top SHOT after all.

I hope they keep doing what they have been doing, which is creating an entertaining and varied show. Obviously it has been a success or they wouldn't already have the next Top Shot wrapped up and casting for the following one in the works.

Just finished watching the season finale.

Definitely the best season so far, if Jake hadn't been there it would have been better but all the other competitors seemed like good people with good skills and behaved like adults.

My hats off to Dustin, that was one impressive run he had from the beginning of the season to the end and he absolutely smoked than final challenge to the point where he made it look too easy. I'm happy he won but I wouldn't have been disappointed if any one of the final four had won. I will say that Dustin had a very good attitude the whole way through the season and I'm glad he won.

Watched it and the extra show that was on after. These Final Four were certainly classy gentleman and fine shooters. Great examples for both kids as well as adults... Shooters and non shooters alike.
That fellow Dustin sure had a great run in that final match.

That was very entertaining, I hope next year we see more sportsmanship and less drama.

Dustin's enthusiasm and gee-whiz smile made him a fan favorite but he showed time and again he could shoot, and shoot under pressure.

A little bit of revisionist history. "I was trying psy-ops". No you weren't; you were throwing temper tantrums like a little kid, and when you didn't get your way you took your ball and went home.

If he was so intent on winning that he would stoop to making himself look like an ass, and throw sportsmanship out of the window, then why would he quit without even trying at the end? He didn't have a strategy, he is obviously just mentally unstable.

I have never fired a Benelli shotgun, but I find it remarkable that a gun savvy guy like Mike could do so poorly with it. Anyone else surprised that he found it so difficult?

edit: Not that I was pulling for him...I did not think he should have been brought back, so I'm happy that Dustin won. Just surprised by the margin in the final event.

Great finale to an awesome season. Much better than season 2, IMO. I can't believe Dustin won by such a wide margin. It was great to see a final 4 comprised of true sportsmen. No one "threw" the competition or might have, see season 2.

As for Behind the Bullet, I almost wish they had just totally ignored Jake. No interviews, no footage of him, no nothing, not cut him out of group shots or anything, just act like he never existed. But since they did, it just reinforced what the majority of us thought about him. So how does sleep deprevation only work on the people you are attempting to keep awake, it doesn't work on the depriver in this case? And wanting to lay in the floor saying, "help daddy, I'm drowning." Everything he does just shows lack of mental stability, as we all knew. It must have been horrible stuck in a house with him and his antics. I'm sure we will see him on some horrible reality show in the near future. That's where he belongs. Let him harass others that signed up for that crap. What a waste.....

In the after-show he says he buried the front post in the ghost ring sight when shooting. I find it odd that he didn’t know how to use a ghost ring sight. He is primarily a pistol guy I guess but they’d already shot the Benelli and other rifles with a similar sight system during the show so that’s not a great excuse.

It might not have mattered anyway. Dustin’s run was amazing.

The “call your shot” challenge is one of my favorites. An AK one handed is just crazy talk.

Someone up thread mentioned an all winner season. I don’t want to wait 10 seasons for that. I’d be happy with a season featuring the top 4 from each previous season.

Great season – I’m looking forward to the next one already.

I just found the competitions with the scoped weapons a little odd. What if it wasn't sighted in properly, what if your cheek weld is completely different than whoever sighted it in...what if the contestant who used the gun before you took hold of the turrets and started twisting away (that sounds like something Jake would do)

I once fired my Mosin Nagant ONCE one handed. Luckily it was already scratched up and all because it got a nice gravel bath after that single round.

Phil Morden talked about that in the interview I did with him.

Behind the scenes of Top Shot with Phil Morden

Phil: "For the rifle challenges you had to know where each rifle was hitting because there were several different rifles. With the VLTOR challenge there were five different rifles. You had to know, “Ok, rifle #4 shoots a little low,” because we were not allowed to change the sights on those guns. They were sighted in by the experts and we were told to leave them alone."

how did they figure out were each was hitting? Was there practice time that wasn't shown on TV? Seemed to me during practice they always used the same rifles.

the same thing would apply to open sihgtd as well.

My biggest pet peeve about this show: All shots sound the same. 22LR, 9mm, 357 MAG, 12G, 7.62 X 39, 50BMG all have the same level of noise. Maybe it's not a big deal for average viewer, but it's just something that bothers me.

Even Jake's friends must not like him. If I were that immature, I would hope my family and friends would talk me out of going on national TV and removing all doubt about the fact I was a jerk.

Was Jake the black guy that was pissing and moaning all the time and quit before a elimination challenge? I started watching the show right about that time. The black guy had a MAJOR attitude and quit before his cahllenge.

I will say, that I liked Dustin the best. Good kid with even better attitude. Gotta like the smile! He SMOKED Mike in that last run! I mean..SMOKED!!

The problem is, any gunshot is over 100dB with a very fast rise time and is just going to overload the microphones and speakers. Perhaps you are more accustomed to fictional shootouts where the report is added by special effects in post-production.

Well, I read the thread updates before watching the DRV. I'm glad Dustin won, can't wait to catch his end game run.

FWIW, I'm glad the other three DIDN'T win as much as I'm glad he did.

Chris seeme dto get lucky for most of the challenges. He wasn't the worst shooter, but he was always close to it. He looked like he was in over his head more often than not. Glen was kinda the same way. He was a decent shot, but there were a lot of mistakes made through out the season. Most of all, I'm glad Mike didn't win. Being brought back on a technicality like he was left me feeling a bit put off. Elimination means just that.

Don't hold your breath, hahaha!

Anyways, What was up with the call your shot challenge? Where those really the best shots that these guys could come up with? And calling a one-handed AK shot "almost impossible" was ridicluous. Maybe almost impressive. And yes, I went right out and tried it this morning to shut my wife up. I made it first try. In my opinion if 3 out of 4 people can do something on the first try (including the guy who called it almost impossible in the first place) it could almost be considered marginal. I am not a great shot by any means, I'll tell you that.

Furthermore, I can shoot a golf ball from the prone supported at 100 yards. Hooray. Where's my 100k?

...And another thing, who can't throw a rock at a target ten flippin' feet away? That was almost embarrassing to watch in mixed company (with my wife).
