I know this may be a stupid question but how does one remove the barrel and forend on the topper 158, I have the snap on version and even after looking at the exploded diagrams of the shotgun I'm stumped.

Anyone have any experience removing the barrel/forend of the topper 158 12 gauge ? I cant even see a pin that could be punched out much less a screw like the newer NEF pardner's have.

Don't you just pull the forend off?

To remove the barrel, remove the forend, then push the button like you're going to load it, hold the button down and keep moving the barrel.

Ive tried to pull the forend off but It doesn't seem to want to budge, Is there a certain direction I should be pulling ? I may just not be strong enough or something :(

Mine is 42 years old and a 20 gauge but I wouldn't think there would be much, if any difference. On mine you grasp the forward most end of the forearm right up next to the barrel and pull straight away as if you were swinging an arc with the forearm toward the trigger guard. Hope this makes sense and hope it helps.
