H&R Single Shot , Youth Model, 20 gauge.
This one is the black finish, factory recoil pad, with plain barrel, and fixed modified choke.
I keep one just like it handy, as do a number of folks.
This one is a user, and I mean a user down in farm country.
It has busted clays, felled ducks, deer, turkey, small game, pests and the fun stuff like balloons and tin cans.
This one, like mine and others, shoots great slug groups, and pellet patterns, including #3 buck shot.
Total length is 36" and the barrel is 22".
Tough little fella, riding in trucks, tractors, combines, being used in all types of weather.
January of 2008 this one survived the tornadoes that ripped through here.
The glass in the farm truck was busted out, and Lady Luck decided to let that truck be, and instead take down a shed about 20 steps away.
April of 2008, this little fella was again hit.
This time the truck, an old one, was tossed and wrapped around a big old tree.
Little fella was found late the next day about 200 yds away in a muddy field.
Again, this little fella was taken apart, checked out, cleaned up and put back together with some nice hugs to make him feel better.
He still shot POA/POI and patterned his loads like he always did.
May 02, 2008, Little fella was again affected by a tornado.
While cars were tossed about on the Interstate not far away, he was tossed in a field, in a farm truck.
Driver left the truck, running and dove into a ditch.
The truck was scooted sideways, some 50 yds and then stopped.
Lady Luck decided to not flip this truck over.
Little fella has been a hard worker, and earned a spot in the Big House.
He served well, and still will, tough little fella indeed.
He cleaned up fine, and again he shoots like he always did.
*tough*
