Y'all might want to check out this guy: Dale Sandberg at Eight Dollar Mountain Foundry http://www.edmfknives.com

I've got one of the pattern #23 "tanto" with the A hilt. Al Thompson just spent a couple of days hacking on a fat lighter stump trying to dull it...he couldn't.

Dale's work is not fancy just tough and sharp.

Good gear. Found out about 'em from an article in SOF several years ago.

Dale's a fellow shooter, too, and an good guy. Expect a bit of a wait, but it's worth it.

Dale works in a sawmill and uses sawblades for his knives. From the thickness he is using the huge circular saws. I think that's D2.

If so, more folks should use D2, I've never owned a knife that sharpens as easily as this one and yet holds an edge so well under heavy use.
