The cost of these 2 scopes is $750 for the Tract and $950 for the Zeiss. The Tract is seen by many owners as being better than scopes costing twice as much. But, a friend of mine tells me the Zeiss is "hands down" superior. ( He says this in spite of having to return his new one because it would not adjust.) What can you guys tell me about these two scopes? Full disclosure here, I have experience with Tract; I own 3 of them, but do not have the Toric. I'm certainly inclined to buy the Toric, but the Zeiss is tempting. Your thoughts?

That's an interesting question and two scopes I've taken a pretty hard look at recently.
From my research I would think I would go with the Tract this time, and compare it to my HD5, that from the grumblings I've heard isn't supposed to be as good as the v4s.

From the website, Zeiss says the V4 is the new and improved HD5, I think.....I read a lot of stuff and don't always recall clearly. No matter really, I have always leaned toward the Tract, but wanted to consider other options. I'm still trying to sell some stuff to pay for it; thus sticking to my commitment to pay for new acquisitions with money I get from selling.

The Zeiss will be better in most every category, IMO.
