"Downside to VP9 is magazines are fairly expensive and can be as hard to find as fresh Egg Nog on the Fourth of July."

The VP9 uses standard P30 mags. I bought 3 for $32 each (new) online.

I like my HK's and my Glocks. I couldn't give up a Glock 19 for a VP9 so I'd have to have both. Save your money for the VP9.

Where At?

Two thoughts:

Its not like Glock 19's are hard to come by, you could always get another one.

But, while my daily EDC is a glock 26, I have always regretted selling my G19gen4. The VP9 is the new hotness right now, save your money and buy one then have both.

My recommendation is keep the G19, save up buy the VP9.

If you like your Glock, I'd just keep the 19. It is narrower and shorter in height, both critical factors if you ever want to conceal carry. The Glock 19 is the perfect size in my opinion, still giving you 15 +1 rounds at just the right size. Having said that, Glocks never fit my hand, so I carry either an HK P30L or a P2000sk.

The other advantage to the Glock is the obvious availability of parts and accessories. Ane those parts are cheaper.

I own an HK45 and love it. I've handled the VP9 and also really liked it, and enjoyed the trigger.

Glocks do nothing for me, I think they are hideous, and they do not feel good in my hand.

It would be a no brainer for me, as the VP9 is on my list. Actually I want a VP45 when they come out, but striker fired guns are like action figures for little kids. "Collect them all!!!!"

Just get both . . . . . . . . hands on which ever one you feel like keeping. ;)

The HK will be around for a long time. If I were good with a certain pistol, I'd hate having to learn a new pistol [while the one I shot well is gone].

Just my 2 cents.

Cool!

Can you post the link where these are available as of now?? Lots of people are looking for them.

I paid $29 for mine but that was quite a while ago.

I briefly owned a VP9 and it did nothing for me. I was excited to finally afford a H&K, but while the tirgger was OK, it wasn't anything special in my opinion, and I found the gun a bit top heavy. With the proceeds, I bought a CZ P-07 and haven't looked back. Just my $0.02.

The trigger is the best I've ever felt on a striker fired pistol.

I take it you have not felt the trigger on either the PPQ or the newest versions of the steyr m series. I have a VP 9 and think it is probably the "best" striker fire service sized pistol but I don't know that the trigger has anything on either the PPQ or the very under appreciated steyr. If I were only going to own one 9x19 full size gun it likely would be the VP 9. I think HK really knocked it out of the park. I figured when I bought it that it would be a good gun but probably just another good option. I actually regretted it right after giving them my money. I walked out on the range and shot it back to back with my primary G17 that I'd recently shot two multi day pistol classes with. The regret disappeared and I really liked my new pistol. It was better than I thought. That said I don't know that I'd run out and trade a known comodity that I was happy with (be that a glock, walther or whatever else) particularly if I was heavily invested in it for the VP9.

I hope they build an SK sived VP. Sometimes the VP has just a little more grip that i would like when trying to conceal in just a T- shirt. I go back to the G26 often as just being a good sized carry gun that sacrifices little in capability. I still kick my self for passing a steyr S9 a few years back and haven't seen another one locally since.

Yesterday I took my VP9 to the range and shot it alongside my P30S. The P30S has a Gray Guns reduced reset carry perfection package, really a slick gun with an amazing trigger. But I shot the VP9 at least as well! It's amazing how it's maybe the easiest gun to shoot well and best shooter I've ever owned despite being the cheapest HK they make (currently). My P30S with all the stuff done to it clocks in at around $1,500 but the $600 VP9 shoots every bit as well. The bullets seem thought guided.

Mine was a while ago as well. Don't remember from where, I think I just saw them on sale and bought them. I'll see if I can find my receipt.

Get the VP9. I have several H&K pistols --P7, P30, USP and P2000. I would not trade one or sell one to buy a Glock.
