So I've been hitting up Armslist here lately and just posted my Glock 19 for sale or trade. After a bunch of mind dumbing offers a guy texted me with USP. My Glock comes with the gun, 2 kydex holsters, 9 - 15rd mags, and a 33 rounder. His USP comes with the gun, 2 mags, and a kydex holster. My question, assuming everything profit/value wise is equal, should I trade my Glock 19 for a full size HK USP 45? I wouldn't be using either one of these for a set role (i.e. Home defense/ccw). Just another gun to have.

Both are good guns but fill vastly different roles. The 19 is a primarily carry 9mm gun, while the USP is a duty/home defense .45.

I find the USP is over-priced though personally and have traded mine away for outstanding deals on my end due to their perceived value. I had a .45 USP and while I liked it, I let it go because it just wasn't for me.

The package you have would retail around $500 (gun, 2 mags) + $200 (7 extra mags) = $700. This assumes your gun has stock sites. If it has nite sites that's another $100.

The USP retails around $815 at buds guns + the value of the holster, probably around $30. Keep in mind extra HK mags are expensive.

Assuming the guns are in equal condition, you would come out ahead purely from a $ standpoint if you took the USP in trade.

So the replacement value of either package shows the USP is more expensive by about 15%.

That's what I'm thinking too: if this is an even-up trade then you would come out ahead somewhat from a monetary standpoint with the USP. Question is, is it really something you want right now?
