Trading a Glock 17 for a CZ 75?

While I think going to a CZ 75 is never a bad choice, it does seem like your issue is likely user induced.

Probably anticipating recoil and "pushing" prior to shots. Perhaps, as a trial before you trade guns, sneak some snap-caps in your mags and see how you react on the rounds that don't go "boom". I did this to diagnose my shooting low-right (squeezing too hard in anticipation of recoil) and it helped me resolve that issue.

Agreed. Everybody seems to shoot some pistols better or worse than others.
the OP probably just doesn't jibe well with the admitedly weird Glock trigger.
Have you (the OP) tried shooting from a rest ? I bet those groups tighten right up. If they do, then you know it's your technique, not the pistol.
BTW, the CZ's are awesome pistols you can;t go wrong with, they are definitely on another level from a Glock, but they are pretty heavy for EDC-ing, and I found I really had to concentrate hard with those tiny sights (which i realize i could have just changed), but when I did, it shot like a friggin' laser. But, after the honeymoon phase wore off, I traded it to a good buddy for a little cash and a minty old S&W wheelgun.

If you're sticking with 9x19mm, I'd stay with the Glock.

If you're moving up to .40 S&W, I'd go with the CZ75. It's got the additional weight you need.

A couple of things which help the Glock:
  1. A decent trigger and a trigger job - Both my Glock 19 and Glock 22 have 3.5lb. Ghost triggers on which I did the "$0.25 trigger job". Both those things make a world of difference.
  2. Adjustable sights - I've got Pachmayr adjustables on my Glock 22. It's always nice to be able to tailor the sights to the ammunition instead of vice versa.
I thought about a CZ75 a few years ago, but didn't like the sharp edge on the trigger. It could of course be rounded off, but just ended up buying other things.

CZ also makes lighter weight pistols, PCR, P-01 (alloy frame) 75's, as well as the polymer P-07, and P-09. There is no reason not to choose a CZ for any role you'd employ a pistol.

If it were me, I would stick with the Glock. But there is a lot of personnel preference there. I have a G19 and its one of the best pistols I have ever owned. Took some getting use to but I would never sell it now. I found that 115grn ammo would shoot to one point of impact and 125grn another. So you might want to try some other ammo and see if that don't help.

Best of luck

I have had the Original Steel Framed CZ75 since early 1980's, it that were more in need of his advise.is still a straight shooter. I used it for my Concealed Carry class, performed well enough. the proctor, walked off and spent his time with others.

Keep It, Shoot it, and Enjoy every minute of it.

I would have the sights changed, and the factory sights are not adjustable.

Good Luck,

Dan
