There is a show called "Tremors." Has any one else seen it?
I like the part of Burt Gummer (Micheal Gross). His wife is played By Reba McEntire.
These folks make the show, I think. The large worms come from below ground and wreak havok in a small town. These two funny survivalist chacters have a large assortment of firearms and and explosives. They are funny as heck. They are entertaining to watch.:D

My favorite movies. Tremors 1, 2, 3, and soon to be 4.

There is a tv show coming to the sci fi channel on Jan. 10.

Tremors 1 hands down is the best of them. 2 isn't too bad but it's definitely got that Sequel feel to it. I haven't seen the others because I figured the slide evident in the second one kept right on going(don't the worms fart fire or something in the 3rd one? Heard that somewhere).

My problem anymore is Gross himself. Hollyweird anti dissing firearms ownership while keeping his otherwise deceased career alive playing a gun owning uber-survivalist. Sometimes i wish I didn't ever learn anything about the stars. Makes enjoying movies easier and my wife happier.

Hmmm, this is post #100. Senior member #9...Lookout Blackhawk, here I come! WOOT! :D

Tremors I was definately the only one really worth watching. The "Burt" character in that one was portrayed sympathetically, not as a gun nut. In the subsequent ones he was more of a gun nut/ redneck boob.

Tremors 1 was great, tremors 2 was good, but termors 3 was lame. Tremors 3 was ok until they came to the part where the things started to fly. I won't tell you how they fly because you may not have seen the movie, but it's pretty stupid.

I liked 'em all.

The best part of Tremors III is when Burt shoots his .50BMG. That's either real, or one heck of a special effect. That fireball is just too cool.

And even III has those great Burt quotes. To mangle one...

"I can't help thinking that, had I been properly briefed, we would not be here with single-shot big-bores, when we should have full-auto. Preferably belt-fed!"

I'm still not sure if I should be worried...I KNOW, deep down, that they played Bert for laughs, but the crowd I hang out with (including my wife and I) think that he is really the straight man...

I liked 1 and 2 but 3 was...

I agree the best part of Tremors 2 is when bert shoots his L.A.R. Grizzly, but what cracks me up every time is what he says before the shot.
Something like....."How far?" "about 100 yds" "thats one heck of a shot, you gotta hit it man!"

100yds with a Scoped 50 on a bipod aiming at a monster the size of a 55 gal drum is a heck of a shot??? Only in Hollywood it is.

Broke into the wrong gosh darn rec-room didn't ya!

I believe if you look up "campy" you see Tremors.

I love it.

Yeah, I love the Tremors movies and can't wait for the series. 3 was definitely the worst of the movies, I'm hoping the series is much better. Certainly has alot of cool weapons in the commercials already, a Barret .50, a M4gery, an AK, a DE pistol, etc, etc. Here's hoping...

And I guess technically they were making fun of gun owners with Burt's character, but I don't care. He freakin rocks. He is the only thing that made the movies any good at all... Go Burt!

"Why don't you do what government agents do best: Find something simple and complicate it!!!"

"Note: 10 pounds of C-4 might be a bit.... excessive..."

I love Burt. Someone says something to him about overkill, to which he replies "When you need it but don't got it, ya sing a different tune." A-freakin-men...

They made fun of Burt but also made it clear that "He told ya so" when it comes to being prepared.

Your a nut untill SHTF.

I fully intend to boycott this show when it comes out.
I;ve already emailed the people at scifi about how upsetting the cancelling of farscape ws to me, and i pretty much only watch stargate and some of their re runs of older stuff now.

Great movies. At first I thought the first one was a Dillon commercial! Not that I'd mind that.... Besides the gun collection and reloading hardware I'd love to have Burt's lair.

Well, heck, I quess I'm the weird one. I liked III the best simply because Burt was the main character! I felt that they played him as more of a hero in the last one.:D

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspI haven't seen Tremors III, but from reviewing this thread I guess I'm a bit in the minority because I like Tremors II better than Tremors I. The scene in Tremors I where Mike and Reba gun down the giant worm who invaded their basement is certainly a classic, but that's about it for that movie.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspOn the other hand Tremors II is comparitively full of witty scenes, some of which have been noted in this thread. My favorite is the way they fought the worms by strapping TNT onto radio controlled model cars, and then ran them around until the worms ate them, and then electronically detonating the charges to blow up the worms. Too funny!

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!!!!

Who said they cancelled Farscape? I love that show and was looking to the new season. The ads say that January 10 is the debut of the newest show!! When did they decided to cancel the show, and why? This was one of their most prized shows, winning acclaim from critics and viewers everywhere.

On Topic: T1 was great. T2 was alright, especially where he comes barrelling in to the camp in that Duece&1/2 after the "ambush situation". Too dang funny.

T3 sucked the biggest one I've ever seen. Talk about beating a dead horse! Why couldn't they be happy going out on a high note?

Now, let's get back to this Farscape matter. I want answers and I want them now!!!!!

The "new season" of Farscape is merely the last half of last season, which they didn't air. Farscape is officially cancelled, and these are the last of the episodes.

I personally never cared for Farscape, probably because I tried to start watching it in the middle of the shows run. Just didn't click with me... But I don't like to see any scifi show cancelled. Like Firefly on FOX as well btw, makes me angry...

My family has seen tremors a million times, and still seem to laugh at "Rhonda, have you seen anything like this before? sure earl, everybody knows about em, we just didn't tell you":D

Never fails to get me to laugh.

My family has nicknamed me burt too.
