Does anyone know if this website provides credible stats?

The manpower and the numbers associated with this article are staggering, to think even a state government would allocate its resources in such a way is frightening.

Why are they going after citizens with legal ownership? What are they preparing for? 20,000 men? Sounds like a whole new level of control to me.

They've misrepresented the situation. Once you become a prohibited person you can't legally own firearms. That's federal law.

A state can add to that definition of what constitutes a prohibited person.

California is the only state doing this, but any state with registration could decide to expend the resources to do this if they wanted to enforce the law.
