I got a DSA Para FAL that's been light-striking lately, and since I'm more of a pistol guy, I was hoping some of the experts here could help me troubleshoot it. I haven't pulled it apart yet, but here's what I'm thinking I should check for:

1) Gunk in the firing pin channel
2) Damage/shortening of the firing pin, maybe out of spec, maybe I pierced a primer without realizing during load development and eroded it.
3) Weak hammer spring, not hitting the firing pin hard enough / gunk slowing down hammer velocity

What else should I look for? Are there any common causes for this problem in the FAL platform?

Still under warranty? If stripping and cleaning the bolt doesn't fix the problem I'd let DSA fix it.

DSA gets parts a lot cheaper than you do.
