I have a pistol that is functionally great but has no finish. I have spray painted shotguns in the past and then baked them in the oven at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes. I would like to do this with my pistol but there is one additional wrinkle. It has tru-dot tritium sights. Will the extended heat cause problems with either the tritium vials or the epoxy holding them in the sight? I am really not keen on making my oven radioactive if you know what I mean.

Can't speak for what temperature they will go at, but when I heated my front dovetail from the front dovetail from the side with some propane the capsule blew out pretty fast (they were going to the trash anyhow).

I wouldn't heat them.
