Just think of the change to 21 to buy a rifle and Red Flag laws that resulted from the shooting here at MDS High school in Fl. The laws were created and PASSED in about 30 days!!

I think the first (and most important) thing to remember here is that Trump isn't necessarily our ally on guns, even if he campaigned that way. We need to hold him as accountable as we'd hold any other politician on either side of the aisle. He needs to understand that he will lose the support of millions of lawful gun owners if he turns his back on us, and we need to follow through in withdrawing our political support if that's what he does.

Write to the White House. Write to Congress. Make phone calls. Do whatever you'd normally do for action on this subject, but make it clear that Trump doesn't automatically earn the votes of gun owners simply because he has an "R" next to his name.

I'd rather "throw my vote away" to a Libertarian than vote for a Republican who was as bad as a Democrat on guns. Maybe that's just me, but if Trump or his advisors are reading this (not likely) I'd want them to know that my support for him begins and ends on the issues that matter to me... Simply stated: if you campaign as a champion for gun rights, and the only action you ever take on guns is additional gun control, then you are not just a liar, you're a liar who doesn't deserve a vote. Make that known!
