I just recently ran out of CCI450s. Not too excited about ordering more right now...I need to try and start utilizing these Tula primers I've got on hand. Is anyone using these non-magnum KVB-223s in their 300 blk? I use H110, A1680, and Lil'gun. Hoping to hear if anyone is having success using them in their high-pressure super sonic loads. Also, should I expect these to show signs of pressure before my CCI450s would?

Thx

I ran a few in mine with LIL GUN with out any problems. These were with the lee cast 155 grain bullet. I havent tried H110 in my blackout yet. Since small rifle primers are generally hotter than small pistol primers I am not sold on the idea that magnum small rifle primers are needed when used with H110 like one uses with small pistol primers. But I havent tried it. It's just a thought.
I use CCI 400 with 1680. At around 19.6 grains with 147 grain FMJ. Some start to flatten out. Not all of them will, just a few. This load has an average velocity of 1887 fps on a warm day.

Those are soft primers and people have had problems with slam fires in guns with free floating firing pins. Also people have seen pierced primers as well. Now that isn't to say you will see either, but it is a possibility. I used them in my Mini 14 with less than full pressure 223 loads without a problem, but didn't experiment with them in my AR.

I've been using them without problems. They do flatten when I seat them often times though, and seem a tad soft.
