The US won't be splitting. If it did? Eh, eventually, things would work out. Contrary to popular belief, liberal areas are not necessarily improvished. A lot of manufacturing, finance and shipping is done in predominately liberal areas. I'd really love to see seperate maps of the US charting out welfare recipients, amount of tax paid, and how much of a return on taxes by state. I love that while a lot of Republicans rail on about welfare (I do also), many never say a word about farm subsidies or corporate welfare. I really wonder which costs more, and I'll try to find unbiased numbers.

It was attempted once in US History back in 1861. I doubt you ever could have an amicable split up of this country. So in the interest of all parties concerned, sometimes it's just better to stick it out.

Now don't get me started on that. (I happen to be a proud descendant of a Confederate soldier) The only reason the South lost the war was because Lee was a gentleman who fought honorably, whereas Sherman slashed, burned, pilliaged, and plundered the Southern people into submission. (He was a bully who had no reservations whatsoever about suffering civilians) Had the South won I believe the two nations would have co-existed peacefully, and perhaps even reunited at some point. In any case, we certainly wouldn't be suffering from the Federal leviathan we have now.

This relocation fund could be funded by LEGAL immigrants. i.e. for every liberal that leaves an immigrant that actually wants to be here, work hard, pay taxes (remember, LEGAL immigrant!) and otherwise be a good citizen can come in! Admitted immigrant can pay the relocation cost of the liberal with a few months wages being garneshed. After the few months are up, no more garneshing!

E.G.: The drinking age would be left up to the individual states and the Federal government would not be allowed to deny the states Federal highwayfunds should they refuse to set their legal drinking age at some arbitrary level (21yrs).

This also puts the states in the position that they have to violate a person's constitutional right to equal protection. I argue that the USC 922's requirement that you have to be 21 to buy a firearm from an FFL dealer is also a violation of the federal constitution.

Nonsense. The North won the Civil War because* it had superior wealth, population, manufacturing, stronger economy, a real navy, and allies. The South was markedly inferior in all respects, except quality of soldiers and military leadership. And those will only get you so far.

They couldn't get any allies because the foreigners a) didn't want war with the Union, and b) after the Emancipation Proclamation, nobody wanted to be supporting the side fighting FOR slavery.

Sherman's antics merely hastened the inevitable.
