here I bought a huntsman 45 caliber rifle and wow! this gun came in super nice like new hardly used! I was impressed! plus the other day I ordered a dixie deluxe cub in 36 caliber flint kit as they are in the dixie flyer they are being closed out so we decided to order it as well as I just recently bought a traditions 36c flintlock rifle for squirrel hunting so now i'll have both! so looking forward to doing this finishing kit starting soon!

Very nice!
It took me a long time to find a deal on a .36.
I'm glad you found at least 2.
me too now I have a long 36c and short 36c squirrel gun and the pedersoli is much lighter than the traditions I bought recently! infact this is my first time to own a pedersoli and wow even in kit form this gun has quality! ;)

Interesting to see such a nice pre-assembled kit that mostly only requires some finishing, even though it will still be time consuming to complete.
And the H&R Huntsman looks like a real cream puff.

Midland...that is a great score! Have you chosen a specific bullet and load for that .45 huntsman?

Wow two great buys! The Dixie Deluxe Cub seems like it will be a fun project to put together and finish. And the H&R Huntsman has a great "old timey" look to it too!

well i did try a .445 ball and 10ths patch but it was much way too tight so I do have a lee mold in .440 so I plan on casting the slightly smaller balls and try using that same 10ths patch which I am thinking should work well! plus I started my powder charge at 60grs of 3f to work up from there! ;)

whats real sad guys is in the newest dixie gun works flyer they are showing this dixie deluxe cub 36c and some others being closed out so we jumped on it as we felt the 36c is being fazed out as I have looked else where and no one makes a commercial 36c rifle anymore, so something to consider if you want one good time to get it.

Nice guns. And that kit looks like it will be pretty easy to finish. The Cabelas hawken I bought many years ago came with enough extra wood to make a matching pistol. At least it seemed that way when sanding to shape.

I just bought a Pedersoli Scout Carbine used off GB in 50 caliber. And it is light weight but not bad at all to shoot. Its a pleasure to carry compared to some of my other BP rifles. I hope you get a report soon on the Huntsman rifle.

Good point.
But at least Bob Hoyt can re-rifle a barrel or install a barrel liner for a very reasonable price.
Hopefully there will always be the option available to convert a .32 rifle into a .36.
There are a lot .32 percussion guns around but probably not as quite as many production .32's that are flint.

well guys range report on the h&r huntsman using 70grs of 3f goex and a .440 roundballs I made 299 total yesterday using a 10ths 100% cotton patch it shot bullseye and didn't have to adjust the sights at all! I took it out today and I was very pleased with this gun!!
