Came across a two piece scope mount that are two different heights. Same screw pattern as on a 10/22, but don’t think a 10/22 would need to use offset elevation mounts, ever. Are there other rifles that use the same hole pattern?

MOST bolt action rifles use a slightly thicker mount on the rear receiver bridge than the front. The rear receiver ring is machined lower, and a thicker base is needed to get the scope level. The newer bolt rifles with an enclosed receiver don't use them, but Savage is the only traditional bolt rifle design that does not. To my knowledge at least. But I have no idea which action would use the same hole pattern as a 10/22.

The pre-AccuTrigger Savages have a thicker rear base than front. The front and rear bases are the same thickness on post-AccuTrigger models. Are we saying the same thing? The reason I’m asking is because I’m not 100% sure of what you’re saying, and maybe I’m having a day where I’m just dense.

Perhaps to achieve same effect as 20 MOA scope mount for 10/22 when using larger 50mm scopes and certain stocks with higher cheek rise?

Both of my 10/22 with factory modular stock and T/CR22 with factory Magpul stock required high profile mount to accommodate 50mm scopes to align with my eye and I had to max out the vertical turret adjustment. Using 20 MOA mount or rings with taller rear will address shots hitting lower than center of crosshair..
