Police scour area for man spotted with gun
Published on 13 September 2003

ALARMED members of the public called the police after a man was spotted walking through Cambridge with a gun.

People reported seeing the man in full camouflage gear and military helmet in Newmarket Road and Coldham's Lane area yesterday morning with a gun clearly visible in a shoulder holster.

After the call at about 9am police officers were sent to the area and the force helicopter was sent up to carry out an aerial search, but there was no sign of the man.

He was white and in his 30s, unshaven and with a dark complexion. He was also wearing dark glasses.

Hmm... lets break this down a bit...

Could have been a Airsoft goer in route to a airsoft meet.
& if it is real, How did an indevidual get something that is so clearly outlined to be against the law to even own...?

tells me it may have been a hoax...

Uh Oh! A Unshaven man in Milliatary style clothing and dark glasses, It must be a Terrorest!!!:what:

Or it could have been a guy simply Going to or heading home from a party/paintball/airsoft shoot...
Or, a Anti with a sick since of humor looking to start trouble.

It's a conclusive fact that in a Disarmed country full of skittish anti's that one person could point at somone and say "That Person Has a Gun!" and you will have practicaly every one of them swearing they saw it, even if they didn't...:banghead:

Naaahhh. No respectable Englishman would do that! ;) Times have certainly changed from when Sir Harry Smith who, as a young man about to march off to war, was told by his mum: "Remember, you are an Englishman!":D
