The other day when I was doing some testing with my mini 14, I accidentally learned something. The sky was overcast and all was fine, then the sun popped out and caused a bad glare on my scope lens. So what do you do to get out of the sun, put up an umbrella of course. Well the sun went back in and I no longer needed the umbrella, so I started to put it back in the truck.
Then a brain fart hit me, why not lay it sideways to keep the mini 14 brass in the same county I was shooting in. Mine will eject brass up to 30' away depending on the load and is the devil to find in the grass. You know them 223 cases are not quite as large as pine cones, which I can see quite well, especially when I step on them barefooted.
So now when the mini goes to the beach for a tan so does its own beach umbrella. Hey works for me!
