I'll start out saying I'm hooked, I got my butt kicked but had fun getting it kicked.

I've never shot 600 yard's didn't have a 600yrd zero, ran everything though JBM ballistic and had a rough idea what I needed to dial my scope to,so started there.

First shot was for the cold bore challenge, put in 5$ and if you hit the X you get the pot,so I thought why not,I've spent 5 bucks on worse stuff .

Set up my stuff and knew right away I'm out geared, these guys and gals are hardcore, first shot ever at 600 I hit the target 8 ring 2'o'clock, I was ecstatic, but low and behold 3 guy's hit the X.

So on to the competition, shot 2 sighters and was still high and to the right,so adjusted scope my scope is 1/8 clicks never had a scope like that and I'm lost from the start over adjusted, and never recovered.

Shot a 134 everybody else shot 195 and better.

Second session shot better at 154.

I found out my weak points in a hurry
Tri pod and rear bag

Scope was good and I think my load was good so I'm going to improve my front rest and rear bag before next month.

I'm addicted now I can only go up from here.

I'm going to ask some questions in the thread started by bds on getting the most accurate load from my .308

I'm open to suggestions and comments
Thanks

And the fun begins.....lol.

Glad you had fun man. It really is addictive. Your experience sounds a lot like mine. I slowly had to upgrade my gear over a year span but each step helped. Now I'm getting a barrel upgrade towards end of this year. Lol. It's an addictive sport.
