I got a Canik TP9 at a Friend's of the NRA banquet a few years back. I'm curious as to how to upgrade it so it can accept an optic. I'd like to eventually get in to action shooting for the fun of it. My focus is on Bullseye at the moment and finishing my three distinguished badges there.

Is there a place I can simply buy the slide Canik sells that accepts an optic and then have someone fit it for me? I'm not concerned with this not being the best gun to start a build. I have a 40 Witness if I want to shoot metallic sights.

Thanks!

I started comps this year with a TP9SA and have since switched to a G17.

The TP9 series are fine guns and I've seen a few besides the one I had shooting comps.

Not sure, but I'm thinking the slide for the SFX that's cut for a red dot will not fit a standard TP9, if that's the one your asking about. Furthermore I dont know where you'd find one and who knows how much itd cost.

You'd probably be better off either getting your TP9 slide milled for a optic or trading up to the SFX if you want to stay with the line up.

Wish I could offer more. Good luck.

That might explain my inability to find just the slide for sale anywhere. Milling it makes sense, I just don't have the setup to do it myself.

Thanks!

I don't have any idea, but you might check out the Brian Enos forums. That's a board focused on competitive practical/action shooting sports (mainly USPSA/IPSC). There are a fair number of people using Canik's in the Carry Optics division these days, so there's a good volume of Canik-related discussion on the sub-forum for miscelaneous pistol brands. I'd start here: https://forums.brianenos.com/forum/211-quototherquot-amp-pistol-comparisons/
