Is it safe to use patches of lead remover cloth for cleaning the bore of a stainless-steel handgun? Instructions on the package of Ez-Brite "Wondercloth" recommend it for this task. I have used it after shooting lead bullets and cleaning the bore first with solvent and a bronze brush. EzBrite seems to be quite effective in getting out the last, most stubborn spots of lead (or whatever gunk they may be). But is it "too" effective, I mean, is it abrasive?

If the cloth you're referring to is anything like the Kleen Bore lead cloths then, no, it won't harm the bore. You do have to be careful with blued guns, though, since the lead remover cloths will remove bluing.

I've been using it for years on my stainless guns but I won't use it for blued guns.
I cut a patch and wrap it around a bore brush and use an electric drill at low to medium speed. It works very well,

I shot mostly lead bullets out of my Redhawk, so after a shooting session I'd shoot 1 or 2 jacketed out the bore to blast away most of the lead, and then use the cloth. I used RIG back then, it was the best lead-free cloth I found. It was the only thing I found that would remove "blackface" from the cylinder, also.
