Thought I'd start another Utah thread.
Anyone into some winter shooting? I move to Sat/Sun off starting in Jan. Thought some winter shoots might be a good time.

Sound off, 1, 2... :p

Weather doesn't bother me. I'm not a wuss... well, not MUCH of a wuss.
My schedule is changing around a bit... right now I'm off sunday and monday. I'm also off in the evenings, so I have it pretty good all in all.

I always love THR get-togethers, so let me know what's happening and I'll try to make it.

Wes

Winter is great as long as there is coffee :) Not much else going on except skiing, I usually try and get out at least once a month in the colder weather.

Well, I can't take another winter like the last two... I didn't shoot for about 3 months last winter -- dry fire can only hold you over for so long. I was going NUTS by springtime.

Like I said, if any of you guys are going, drop a post about it and I'll come if at all possible.

Wes

Hey, just found this post. Glad to see some Utah boys on THR. Where are you guys at?? I see it says central Utah, but that is kinda Vague. I recently moved to the South-West corner of the State this last summer and have only met a few guys to shoot and BS with. Let me know, take care

There are quite a few including a Moderator from this board (Correia) up here in the SLC area. Personally, I'm in West Jordan, which is a Salt Lake City suburb.

Wes:
I'm thinking about a Febuary shoot, probably out in the desert. Simpson springs has a nice campground.

I moved here in August from Colorado and I have been shooting a few times since arriving including the machine gun shoot put on by Impact Guns at Big Shot ranch.:D
I try to get out at least once a month and would really enjoy getting out with some experienced shooters.

I'm always up for shooting, but have been swamped with opening the gunstore. (shameless self promotion). You guys need to come and see us in a couple of weeks. We're shooting for the week of December 12th.

Self promote away dude. Location, probable hours of operation?

I'll be there. You told me where it would be, so I have a rough idea, but if you could post the address, that would make it much easier.

Looking to hire any gun counter flunkies? :p

Wes, I haven't even been paid yet. :)

From I-15, take the 123rd south exit in Draper. Head east. Take the first right (south) on Minute Man Drive. Go about 2 blocks. We are in the front part of the Kroft Marine building. It says FBMG on the door. (the one with the big boats, can't miss it). If you hit the National Guard headquarters, you've gone too far.

We're planning on being open Mon-Sat. 10-7. But we're still not open yet, have a few more things to do, and a lot of inventory to get in.

Desert Scorpion..........

I lived in the South West Corner of Utah for 10 years. There is gun shop in Town....A-Pawn.....See a guy named "Rick". He can tell you about all the local shooting events, people who just get together and shoot, or even places to go by yourself just outside of town.

Great bunch of people there....and if you dont have your CCW yet, Rick can give you the info on getting that as well.

Take care and good luck, Bill :)
