RICHARD MACK ADVANCES IN "AMERICAN CANDIDATE"!
"American Candidate" Richard Mack is coming to
Virginia!
"American Candidate" will attempt to identify one
individual who has the qualifications and qualities to
be President of the United States. The winner gets
$200,000 and a chance to address the nation on TV.
Over the course of 10 weeks, 12 candidates will
face-off against each other in a series of challenges
designed to test their presidential mettle. More
information can be found at
http://www.americancandidate.com.
Freedom-lovers in Utah, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania --
and from across the country -- have helped Richard
Mack advance to the latest challenge in Virginia.
Thank you so much for your support!
But Richard Mack's competitors are backed by some
major, well-organized special interest groups. Richard
Mack barely survived the cut in Pennsylvania, so his
supporters and he are going to have to significantly
ramp up the effort and break out their Rolodexes if he
is going to move on.
HOW YOU CAN HELP RICHARD MACK ADVANCE IN VIRGINIA
The rules or the challenge may change, but if history
is a guide, on Sunday, June 20 and Monday, June 21
until 4 P.M., anyone calling from a Virginia telephone
can call a toll-free number to "vote" for Richard
Mack.
Once I learn what the toll-free number is, I will post
it to http://www.mackforgovernor.com (we paid for the
web site until the end of the year, so we might as
well use it). Some of Richard Mack's supporters have
been pretty good about posting the toll-free number to
the message boards at americancandidate.com.
Calls may originate from any phone with a Virginia
area code: 276, 434, 540, 571, 703, 757, and 804.
A call from home, work, a mobile phone, and a payphone
will count four times. Calling from a row of payphones
from a hotel, airport, or mall ... wow!
Another strategy that candidates have employed is
copying off a sheet of the candidate's name and
toll-free number and handing them out door-to-door,
store-to-store, and places where people with phones
(mobile or otherwise) gather. Anyone in Virginia could
do this on her or his own initiative!
Yet another strategy is to line up local talk/morning
radio and television interviews for the candidate to
deliver his talking points and give out his toll-free
number.
I'm sure that you can think of other ways (spreading
the word by telephone, email lists, electronic
bulletin boards, chat rooms, etc.) to Get Out The Vote
for Richard Mack.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
According to one web site, the remaining "American
Candidates" are scheduled to appear at Old Cabell Hall
at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville on
Sunday, June 20, 2004 at 12:30 P.M.

Then on Monday, June 21, 2004, the candidates will
meet with local groups to discuss issues and gather
support to generate calls to their toll-free number
before the deadline.

Richard and Dawn Mack would appreciate volunteers and
supporters coming to either of these events
(pro-Mack/pro-liberty signs make for good television).
Check mackforgovernor.com for local contact
information when it becomes available.
