I don't know how active any of you are in the performing arts, either performing yourselves or attending performances, but every year, at Valentine's day, devotees of Eve Ensler, put on her play, The Vagina Monologues, with the subtitle, "till the violence stops". The idea is that they put on this play in the hope that it will end domestic violence/ violence against women. The gist of it is a group of women read a bunch of (surprise) swear-laden scripts and it supposedly empowers their female audience. While I think the sentiment is right, I think it really has little to no effect on reducing violence against women. I was thinking, what if we, gun owners, tried our own approach and every Valentine's day, we brought our wives/girlfriends/co-workers, to the range with us and showed them how we could really empower them and end violence against women. As the expression goes, "God made Adam and Eve... Smith and Wesson made them equal". I'm not saying it has to run as an opposition to the Monologues, but teaching women self defense with firearms goes a long way in preventing their victimization at the hands of those that wish to harm them. Much like the Monologues, it could start as a small movement and could grow itself into a larger one.

...just a thought

Send that idea to the Second Amendment Sisters.
They might like it. They could also have a "take your Boyfriend or Husband shooting" to make it fair.

BTW, I think it was Sam Colt who made them equal. ;)
