Good morning people,

Does anyone know of a company that makes good value pack ammo for a .45? I use the Winchester value pack for my 9mm but I've never seen this for a .45 at Walmart. I'm trying to found out where someone with a .45 in a Ruger would find savings on the ammo. Appreciate any helpful tips. Thank you.:D

Dick's Sporting Goods has UMC (Remington) .45 Auto fmj ammo on sale this week for $9.95 a box. Also if there are any gun shows in your area someone usually has the generic stuff on sale for around that price.
Now if you're talking .45 Colt, you usually won't see any deals on that. CCI Blazer's are about the cheapest you will see there.

Start reloading. You can shoot at least 2X as much for the same money. Even a Dillon SDB will be paid off in 1000 rounds or less if you are buying new jacketed ammo, from there you can start shooting more.

Lead 200 grain hardcast SWC = $.05ea
Large pistol primers = $.015ea
Powder, hodgdon clays is good=$.01per load
Total per load $.07
Brass you should have already, and it lasts forever. You more than likely will lose 45ACP before you wear it out. 7 cents each means you pay THREE DOLLARS and 50 CENTS PER BOX!!!!!!!!!!!, $7 per hundred, and $70 per THOUSAND rounds!!! My costs above are buying in minimum quantities too, you can get them down even more if you buy in bigger quantities! Do the math on what a good loader will cost, and then do the math for how much you WANT to shoot and what that will cost you.

Reloading is not hard, no ninja like skills needed or anything like that. I would say that if you can cook an edible meal from a recipe you can load safely. It is also another part of the shooting sports that can be enjoyed, and pride taken in.

Just read it ^^^ and it sounds kinda like a sermon, it is not intended that way. My point is just that reloading can let you shoot a LOT more for the same costs. Reloading is also enjoyable for most.

I heard that! I'm good for $3.50 / box of 230 grain LRN vs $14.83 / box.

CCI Blazer uses aluminum cases and therefore goes for a bit less.

UMC's good stuff at a reduced price.

Winchester white box is no frills and good stuff.

Unless you get them on sale you're talkin' $12.00 / box.

Might try internet sites such as www.cheaperthandirt.com or www.ammoman.com Do a google on "ammunition" and stand back.

Evil gunshows is a good place to browse.

Good luck.
