Got the itch to build another AR upper and figured I'd give the Beowulf a go. Since I reload I'm not worried about ammo and it's a round I can use to hunt deer instead of a slug shottie. Decided on going with a Brownells 16" barrel/bolt combo and mounted on a KM Tactical upper receiver. Will be swapping this upper and another in 7.62x39 on my Anderson lower with fixed stock. Anyone have any words of wisdom or reload recipes to look at while I'm waiting for parts to come in?

I dont shoot the Beo, I have a Socom, but I think youll like it. Big bore ARs are a blast. Personally i wish id gotten an 18-20" unthreaded barrel on my socom instead of the 16" as the break dosent help much, but makes it blow stuff off my bench or the ground....dunno if thats usefull info with the Beowulf

Socom here as well, but the idea is the same. I like mine a lot. It has a slash heavy buffer and spring in there right now, but eventually I will get a good adjustable gas block. I think that will really make the rifle shine.

Accuracy is plenty good. Not much work and I am 1.5 moa. I am sure better can be had, but it really smacks deer as it is lol. I am sure yours will do the same. Great pig medicine Im sure.

Agree on the brake. Id either go suppressor or just a regular old flash hider. A nice little low profile thread cover could fit the bill even better if it is a longer barreled rifle.

Make sure you have a good stock on the rifle. The junk collapsable ones are not to be trusted with big boy rounds. I have had no issues with my magpul ctr. The friction lock seems to help. Probably 450 full power rounds down it and no issues.

best advice I can give you is to pick up some renier plated bullets. Get some flat points and hps and see which your gun prefers. Fair warning though the hp will put a HOLE in a deer. Ive shot deer with both and the flat point gets the job done too. these bullets are a lot cheaper then jacketed bullets and are as accurate or more so in my gun. the flat point shoots 5 into one inch at a 100 yards in my gun and the hp opens it up to about 1.5 inch.
