I'm just wondering what the options are for a vest to carry some FAL mags. I'm not ever planning to engage the red army but I can see some situations where having a vest with 3 or 4 loaded mags and some essentials ready to go could be a good thing to have around.
As I said, I don't want or need the ability to carry a huge number of magazines or to have a million pouches hanging around that I don't need.
I have looked at some of the offerings from Blackhawk, Spectre, and tactical tailor but many are designed for the AR and I don't want to take a chance. I would also think that there should be some kind of military surplus equipment around that would work for the FAL since they were used by about 90 countries.
Specifically, I am looking for
1. ability to carry 3 or 4 spare magazines, a first aid kit, a flashlight, some water, and a medium fixed blade knife or multitool.
2. durability - this thing isn't going to get used a whole lot but I also don't want to replace it soon. I'm not interested in cheap knock-offs.
3. security - I obviously don't want to lose my stuff so the pouches need to be apropriately sized. This is why I'm hesitant to try one made to fit several different kinds of mags.
4. Price - I'd like to get this for less than $100
