After firing 90 rounds from my newly aquired VZ58 I may never touch another AR-15. And I have four of them.
This VZ58 is a excellent weapon and much cheaper to shoot.

Hell yeah! Mine's been flawless for a couple hundred rounds, has all the features I'm looking for, good accuracy and is extremely lefty friendly.

The baseline folding stock leaves something to be desired unless you really enjoy a square rod of steel smacked into your cheekbone every shot.

glad you like it navajo

Law I split a 5/8 fuel line and taped it on to take care of that discomfort. Does the trick and isn't as bulky as foam tubing some use. Some folks wrap it in paracord. I added a grenade launcher buttpad because as a lefty I didn't like my nose almost on the folding hinge.

I have 2 vz2008 and don't even want to futz around with my saiga at all.

Got a vz-58 some time ago, and love it.

There are several nice folding stocks out there that fit the vz-58, and ACE makes an adapter to use AR-15 stocks as well. This one is wearing a Zahal folding stock with polymer joint, equipped with a rising cheekpeice. Note extended bolt release, nice thing to have, available from Czechpoint-USA. Not shown is the extended ambi mag release I installed after thias picture was taken. Recoil is light and easily managed, and the rifle is flat out a joy to shoot.
There IS going to be a model soon that is in 5.56mm that will accept AR magazines, as well.
