Wal-Mart

Depends on the store

We have at least 4 Wally Worlds where I live (Western Nevada).

Reno has two that I've been to. The South Reno store lost its FFL couple years back. Once they requalified, the Corp guys had already begun to cancel FA in "selected" stores. South Reno now has an extended fishing supply area. Central Reno still sells. That's where I got the long-barreled Ruger 10/22 stainless (available only at Wally World).

Carson City has a new store. Has FA department and ammo. Courteous but not terribly bright, depending on whose shift you hit. Just outside of Carson (in Douglas County) is the older store. Still selling FA.

I buy ammo at these last two because a) the ammo is made in USA and b) their prices are about the best for factory-new. That may change when Cabelas opens West of Reno.

Whatever I can't get there I can get at any of the 10 or so gun/sporting shops in the area. Sports Authority still selling long arms and all ammo, but discontinuing sidearms.

Guess firearms are popular in the Elko, NV area. Wal-Mart sells plenty and you can also buy them at Save-On Dug store.

They took all guns out of the WM here in Round Rock. I talked to the sporting good mgr, he said they were carrying over $50,000 in inventory, and usually sold only 1 or 2 guns a month. He said that, and the "changing clientele" (read: lower income), led Wal-Mart to do away with guns at that store. It's probably like that in the other stores they did away with gun sales in as well. (Plus, Sportsmen's Warehouse and Academy in this area were probably kicking their tales in gun sales).
