What a good deal they have on some mainstream rounds.
UMC .38 +P 125gr sjhp 100rds=$34
Federal 9mm 115gr fmj 100rds=$22
I don't buy ammo much anywhere else lately. They have the calibers that I need and at a price that is the best I can get. From what I see, 9mm, 38, 357, 40, 45, they have a bunch on the shelf, go Sam!

I remember buying Federal 9mm FMJ there for <$10 per 50. Very fresh ammo due to high turnover. That is why I buy most of fruits and vegetables there. I will not buy meat or fish from them.

Best Prices

I don't buy a lot, I only have two calibers .22 and .22WMR. But I'm able to get the best prices and so far their bulk ammo has been as reliable as any. In fact the $15.47 bulk pack of 550 round Federals are reliable and cleaner burning than some of the premium ammo. And when I need to up scale to CCI Stingers they have good prices on that too.

Was there this morning was going to buy a few hundred of the Fed 9mm but couldnt find anyone to help me.

I"ve been using their Federal .45 Auto and it's not FMJ like the box claims. It's a plated bullet with a small primer. I'm still using it becasue I want the brass. It would be easier for me to reload everything with SPP's.

:neener:About the only good thing about working there is I can pick up my ammo with an additional 10% off, so after taxes I'm still paying less. If I really want to save I can do a 20 minute drive to Oregon and not even pay the tax

I live only a few miles from the storefront for Palmetto State Armory. I've had the ammo guy at the Walmart give me Palmetto State's business card when I was picking up a box of ammo while I was in Walmart for another errand lol. He wanted me to know that Palmetto State had it cheaper.

To their credit Walmart did not engage in the gouging practices like some storesbig5 during the Great Ammo Drought.

I was working graveyard shift & would hit the store at 0700. If they had any I would get to it before the scalpersbig5.

Trouble was, some of the employees were the scalpers, and got it hot off the truck before it ever hit the shelves!!

We had one here in town that was reselling it to our gun & pawn shop, to be resold again at inflated prices.

The guy at the Walmart I frequent always cautions me about my selection, showing me that another selection is a better price. Don't usually get that kind of customer service at WM.

They sell WWB and Federal ammo at the Walmart near me.
I always go for the WWB, I love that brand for both practice and defense...and it's inexpensive enough you can practice with what you carry.
Opened a box of Federal 12 gauge HP slugs to see if they were the quality I hear so much within the company. Absolute junk, I looked at 2 and put the the box back. Compared to the Winchester Super-X HP slugs (that were cheaper) the HP was just a very slight dent on the nose, one of them just had a machining scratch where the HP should be. Don't get me wrong I'm sure the slug would have worked fine regardless (it being a 12 gauge slug) but when I buy something that says HP on it I expect there to be one.

Right next door there is a Dick's Sporting Goods so I can usually consumer shop a bit. One time the guy at Dick's gave me a nice deal, 1000 rounds of Remington .22lr for $14.

I have been to them 2x. First time I never was able to get help. Second time they had to find the keys to the case after I finally was able to get help. For me it is not worth it to waste my time there. I'd rather order online and not pay tax. I can get better ammo delivered to me and pay the same or slightly more.
