Walmart closeouts

Just putzed around online. Locally one of my stores started marking down Weatherby Deluxe Sporters. They have a .308 normally $657 for $349
Last year I grabbed a 10/22 with the precision adjustable stock- changeable length/ comb height for $100
Passed on a Rem 87 12 or 20ga for $150
Missed the Ruger Mini's for $450

My best friend is the Sporting Goods manager at the store I work at. He told me the 11-87s were dropping down- If they take the second drop, I will probably pick one up for a backup trap gun- I could switch stocks on the line if I had to.

How are you guys finding this info out? When I check online it doesn't show anything.

Wal-Mart already gets attacked by anti gunners for even having weapons. Wal-Mart hasn't sold AR-15s since 2005 or so but they are somehow blamed for gun violence just for selling firearms. They are not going to advertise a gun sale and put them selves under a PR magnifying glass.

As for me the only Wal-Mart close to me just put in a gun counter. But for some reason they have a sign that says they don't do firearm sales. I imagine it has something to do with they can't do proper recording or NCIC checks from there. So they have a whole rack of long guns but haven't sold any.

I'm not going into detailed instructions but check out the Brickseek inventory checker web site. Poke around and do some searches. You can search general terms like rifle then select and find inventory by zip code. You can use the free version. Just don't tell Walmart you used it or they won't see to you.

Detailed instructions were in last years thread.

If you wouldn't mind directing me to the old thread I would appreciate it. I tried searching Walmart closeouts and only this thread popped up. I jumped on Brickseek and searched shotgun and it shows shotguns but says nothing in my zip code. I have 5 Walmart's within 30min that all sell guns so ones got to have something clearance.

I believe Brickseek only shows items with price reductions.

I'll see if I can find the old thread.

I only use Brickseek in fall each a year. Each time is a learning process for me. Ya gotta peck around in it.

I just returned from my local WM. Federal 550 bulk in red box was just under $20, but I didn't see big markdowns on the 30 or so rifles and shotguns on display.

Search on this site for Walmart Mini 14 closeout. $399 was the price I got, thanks to this site and Brickseek.

I tried so hard for one of those..... sniff, sniff.

As i recall from last year, the tags on the guns showed no price reduction, the store clerks didn't even know about it. But when they priced it in their computer, it showed the sales price.

My locals don't show any mini's on clearance ... Yet.
Your right on store pricing. When I was picking up my 10/22 last year someone called about Rem 870 to check if they had any. Asked about price and guy looked at tag and said $289. Guy on phone asked him to scan it and it came up $150.
Some times they say they don't have any. With Brickseek you can ask them to look in back. Don't tell them you used Brickseek or game over. Brickseek appears to be some pirate websiye.

I’ve had Brickseek tell me some things that just weren’t true, because apparently the online database it pulls from isn’t live updated. Neither is the Walmart website because I’ve had it tell me things were in stock (it even tells you the aisle) but they were nowhere to be found.

The ones in the country surrounded by farms usually sell guns. The ones at or near large cities usually do not.

I haven’t been in a Walmart that sells gun in 15 years. I thought they all stopped.

You must live in a big city.
The Walmart in the county to the East of me and the one to the West of me always sold gun's, my county, the one to the North and the one to the South don't have any Walmart's. My county has no fast food ether and that's the way we like it.

Just looked at another forum from last year. We might be a week or two too soon for the good reductions ...
