Walmart closeouts

The Wallys (2) in Lawrence Kansas haven't sold firearms for decades. Why? Don't know if local anti-gun sentiment plays a role or not.

Almost none of those are in stock locally, which makes sense given that they were last year’s closeouts. Those links worked last year but it doesn’t appear those items were ever restocked. The only one I found was the 10/22 takedown and it’s over $300.

The prices are last years, but several links do work for me locally with an initial mark down. SKU 's should be the same this year. When I search I get a list of similar marked down items with percentage of stores having them. Most items have minimal markdowns and only 25-40% of stores having them. The Weatherby Dlx Sporter I showed 2 in stock locally this morning for $349 show out of stock now. Last years best price was $249. It's a closeout crap shoot.

Last week my local store had a lot more on the shelf. Someone already cleared them out here.

I just got 8 boxes of Winchester deer season and 4 boxes of Federal fusion all 30-30 for $4.50 a box. They were also listed on brickseek.

I can't buy a gun at Walmart in my entire state anymore if I wanted to thanks to the ultra liberals that took over state government at the first of the year. They passed a UBC law and made it mandatory that any FFL do the checs. Walmart responded to this by simply quitting selling guns in this state. My local store still has a pretty good ammo supply and a few cheaper accessories so that part didn't change.

Stopped at a rural Walmart yesterday in my travels. Talked to a very nice and chatty lady in the Gun Dept. I asked about closeout rifles. She said they had 4 earlier this week and they sold right away but they would be discounting more as cleanout for the new fall inventory. Only new closeout in the rack was a Marlin .22 mag bolt.
She suggested stopping back often.

Not only does the local Walmart's not sell guns, but have little interest in selling cartridges. It's necessary to search out a sales person in the automotive department with a key for the ammo. Most of these people walk around like zombies. It's so bad at the nearest Wallyworld that potential customers will not go there after dark.

I tried so hard for one of those..... sniff, sniff.

As i recall from last year, the tags on the guns showed no price reduction, the store clerks didn't even know about it. But when they priced it in their computer, it showed the sales price.

The last time there was an ammo sale the clerk at the gun counter looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked about it.

When I decided to get a couple of boxes of ammo it was discounted a bit

Sniper66: When I lived in the KC area ('66-'81), Lawrence seemed to be the (UC) Berkeley of Kansas.

There's a strong connection between that and no guns at your Walmarts for a long time.

Bought a 10/22 from Wally today and it didn't come with owners manual or lock. Kinda bummed.

Has anyone had recent luck with this?

I had the gf check our Walmart and they said nothing ever gets clearanced. I searched Brickseek for an 11/87and it shows nothing but I know they have them.

Okay so I got barcode numbers from Walmart for two rifles and ran them through brickseek and no info.

Any idea why it doesn’t work.

I believe they need to be reduced price to show up. Last year it seems like the site worked better. May be that's how they get you to upgrade ? We might be early for mass markdowns. From what I understand it's kind of a bootleg inventory system NOT sponsored by any retailer.

I asked a worker to scan them and he wouldn’t. Apparently they got these guns in April so no markdown
