Walnut for the GP's

Probably leave the maple on the 10mm and put the walnut on the .44Spl.

Oh whoops. I should look closer because yeah, the maples are on your 10mm already. If the cylinder flutes didn't give it away, the "10mm" stamped on the side should have.

Where's my coffee..................................?

To be truthful, the maples went on the 10mm because it was the closest to grab and it gave me an excuse to finally shoot it. ;)

The profile and swell on them looks like they would feel fantastic. I took my altoamont "roper" grips off my GP because they tapered too much from bottom to top causing the gun to sink in your hand under recoil. Those grips of yours looks like they would keep that puppy anchored where it should be. Again, very nice!

That was my only complaint about the factory walnut Ropers, aside from the plainest wood known to man, they're a little too narrow at the top.

Beauties

I really, Really, REALLY like the look of the half-lug GP-100's! Those grips make the 10 you have look fantastic!

Unlike the vented Colt Python, Dan Wesson VH or even the S&W solid tops, the full lug barrels Ruger makes for the GP 100 or SP 101 just don't do it for me.

Stay safe!

Ya know, @CraigC, I normally just don’t enjoy blued steel, but hot damn that non-fluted cylinder with those dark walnut stocks looks good!

Best part of the whole picture is the cyl bolt line. Proves function & utility behind the form!

Thanks! That's actually the gun I sent the gripmaker in trade for the grip work. I forgot to ask him how it shoots. My own .44Spl is still wearing the factory walnut. He said I should get the new grips tomorrow.

CraigC,

Those grips look like they was shaped the same as the ones the come on the 5 inch, non fully underlugged GP-100, but made with much prettier wood. I like the shape of the grips and they were fine for .38 Special ammo, but I am going with HOGUE rubber grips on mine.
