Just looked through the new walther catalog yesterday and was wondering what everyone thinks about the new G22 bullpup. To be avail. in black and olive green with a number of accessories. It's kinda ugly but cute at same time.

I bought a G22 about 6 weeks ago and I've owned some of the most expensive to the cheapest 22 rifles made, and with a 3 to 9 X 50 scope mounted on the G22 it is the most accurate - reliable and consistant shooting 22 I've ever shot at a 65 yard distance, but with CCI MINI MAG hollow point ammo ONLY. About every 200 rounds I use BREAK FREE POWER BLAST gun cleaner to clean it and then G96 gun oil after the power blast. I've had no problems whatsoever with the little G22 and have shot well over a thousand rounds already through it. I holp this answers your question.
Danny,

You dont consider the fact that the rifle is only consistent, accurate and reliable with one type of ammo a problem?

just curious..

I've had a G22 for a bit now and haven't had any problems. The rifle is really accurate. I'm shooting Winchester Dynapoints through it. I've not had any problems with other types of .22 ammo. It's a great little plinker, cept the factor sights aren't good. I'm running an Ultradot 4 on mine.

:) No No = Every 22 autoloader made shoots a certain kind of ammo better then other kinds. An automatic has to have the same powder charge to opperate the it properly. In the bulk packages, the 22's are NOT all loaded with the same powder charge and therefore the weaker loaded ammo will not eject the empty case therefore it will jam. But then I have owned several 22 automatics that will shoot almost any kind of ammo, lol. Weaker springs or what ??? - I don't know.

Bought one and returned it when I discovered how difficult it is to disassemble for routine cleaning and maintenance. Lot of opportunities for little parts to go--sproing!!

That said, it is a fun gun to shoot. But I have a real prejudice against guns that are not maintenance friendly.
