With Rural King having these things on sale for $289, I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Anyone got one, shot one, etc, and if so any input? Price is hard to beat.

I purchased the LE model over 6 months ago. No regrets. I have over 500 rounds through it and as long as I do my part the gun runs flawlessly . I would recommend this gun. It is a good size for concealed carry yet big enough to shoot at the range comfortably . The LE model comes with the 6,7, and 8 rounds mags so you can decide what size mag you want to carry it with. I purchased an extra 8 round mag from Midway and carry with an 8 round mag in the gun with the other 8 round on my side. Go take a look at it and I think you will like it .

Gonna buy it for sure. What ammo runs well thru it? I've always been more of a full size guy, but have heard that the Federal 150 grain, or even Hornady 135 are the go to on this size.

No, Hornady 135gr Critical Duty isn't the proper choice for the short PPS barrel. Critical Duty, especially the heavier bullet loadings are ammo meant for full size guns and PCC's.

You'd be better off with a lighter weight bullet, 115 or 124 grain to get the velocity and keep it above expansion threshold. Speer Gold Dot short barrel should work very well, but Winchester White Box 115 JHP has been proven to work from short barrels and is very inexpensive, like $16 per 50 rds.

I’ve had mine for almost 3 years and thousands of rounds through it. I recently got it back from Walther for the drop-safe recall work and they did a great job, I took it to the range not long after I got it back from Walther and it shoots great like it always did, and this trigger is one of the best of any striker fired pistol that I have experience with anyway. This one shoots just about any ammo you load it with. I would highly recommend one of these without hesitation.

Grab it! I bought my PPS M2 not too long after they were released for $449, $482 after taxes. I bought this over the Shield they had at the same time on sale for $329. Of course I would have preferred to get it for what Rural King on sale now. This pistol is my main EDC at least 90% of the time. Also it actually shoots softer than you’d think for a subcompact 9mm.

I love mine. It shoots real nice and is very ergonomic. Normally I hate shooting with my pinky dangling off the bottom of a gun. But on this gun, with the flush fit mag, I dont mind it much at all. The grip is very well done. Fits my hand well. I dont find myself needing to readjust my grip halfway through a mag.

Why use the small 6rd mag instead of the larger 7 or 8 round mags you ask? Because I carry this gun. And I like it to be concealed. I also want to practice that way. The grip is hardest part of the gun to keep hidden, for me anyway. The bigger mags make this gun shoot much like full size, if that's what you are into, those mags are really great.

FYI, I have thread in the buy, sell, trade section if anyone wants to trade a flush fit mag for one of my bigger ones.

I got my LE version at Cabelas on BlackFriday for $350.

Love my le model, extremely reliable and the cocking indicator is a great feature.

You raise a great point about the cocking indicator on the back plane of the slide, Not too many people talk about this great safety feature on the Walther PPS models. I always cover the C/I with my thumb when I (re)holster the gun, not much chance of snagging the trigger and potentially risking a ND if that cocking indicator is covered.

Bought it, shot it, and have a Clinger holster coming. Easily the best performing factory ammo out of it was the Winchester D 147 HPs. Ran several types of ammo thru it without a hiccup, thru a chronograph.

Same reason I carry my PPS M1 with a 6 round magazine. 7 round magazine as the spare.

I will probably go with the larger magazine if I carry. My normal conceal carry is a CZ P09 with a 19 round mag, dressed appropriately. That being said, the state I live in is very gun friendly, allows open carry, and the evil red signs do not carry "letter of law". Other than the larger mag giving you more rounds, it's the real estate on the draw I prefer. Now, if I'm visiting a bluer state I may run with the 6 rounder.

Well, after about 300 rounds thru this gun I love it. It took a little figuring out being im more used to shooting full sized guns like my CZ P09 with an Omega trigger that, for me at least, a little more finger in the trigger is better with these sub compacts. With various rounds it was definitely shooting left off of a bag (please, I know I was NOT jerking the trigger so dont lol). Slow steady squeeze and follow thru and still left. Put the calipers to it and it did need an ever so slight bump right. Great groups now. 7 yards is definitely POA and not 6 oclock. Not one single hiccup. Thanks guys

I traded a Kahr CM9 straight up for a mint one. I liked it so much that I picked up a second one when they were 250, and put it away. It shoots very well for me. Great buy!

Had/sold the 9mm Classic; loved its shootability; no FTFs in 450 rounds.

Adopted the 9mm M2 early; have loved its ergos and shootability; no FTFs in 600 rounds (of varying quality).

Haven’t experienced the barrel-peening that some have, but did get caught in the drop-safe recall (two-week turnaround).

Haven’t sorted out my thoughts about the recall. I don’t like flaws in my firearms and usually unload them after they’re corrected. My Glock 43 certainly looks better at the moment. But I need to shoot my returned M2 to see where it and I stand...

Great reviews and comments here and on the web about the PPS M2! I'm looking to go lighter and smaller with reliability in a sub compact pistol, like many others. Currently looking at a G43, G43X and a Sig P365. These would be IWB in a Tulster thin Kydex Holster. I carry a G19 OWB or 1911 CCO .45 ACP IWB and OWB, both pistols in Milt Sparks.

Here's my question... Walther looks great! Can anyone compare to one of the three sub compacts, IWB carry pistols that I've mentioned? I'm looking for thin, lightweight and reliable. Having survived a home invasion, I take this very seriously. Appreciate!

If it were an M1, with the paddle release, I would be on it. As it is, it just isn't what I am looking for.

That being said, for someone looking for its combination of features, It looks like a great buy!

A lot depends on how will each gun "fits" you. To me the Sig is just too small for my hands, and the Glock grip angle is not MY favorite. I can tell you the PPS M2 fits great for me, the ergonomics are unreal. The gun shoots similar to a full size, allowing great follow up shots. Accuracy for a small gun is superb. For you, I would at least pick up each one and see what feels best, you can't go wrong with any of them in 9mm. It's always best to shoot each and then decide, but thats not always possible. The PPS does shoot bettet with 147 grain bullets, though 124 are adequate. Stay away from 115. I tend to carry a full size CZ if at all possible, but will carry this when it's "fits" me. Just ordered a new Clinger holster for it.
