Hey guys,
I'm thinking of building an AR-10 rifle based on a CMMG lower (The one that accepts G3 mags). This limits me to DPMS uppers. How are DPMS AR-10 uppers?

What kind of other parts can you guys recommend, such as replacing the BCG, a different barrel, or what about a recoil reducing buffer system?

You will need to machine the BCG to accept the G3 magazines. You can probably use any number of uppers that are also compatible with DPMS (such as POF). Is there a reason you want to use G3 magazines? The DPMS/KAC pattern mags are very plentiful and the PMag is great design.

I believe you can also use Armalite barrels but will need an Armalite bolt and BCG. You may need to match the buffer to the BCG.

JP and Fulton make compatible parts as well.

I have two DPMS LR-308 uppers and they have work without hiccough for me.

I don't know about their Mega 10. I have used two Mega lowers for recent AR-15 builds and they seem to have been in spec and the guns work fine.

The price is higher than DPMS and Fulton and lower than POF.
