I saw one of those demonstrated years ago. They had both pistol and rifle versions. They were pretty cool, but not very accurate. The neatest thing is that when the gun was fired all you heard was a hiss from the escaping gas, then a "crack" as the bullet passed through the sound barrier about 15 or 20 feet from the muzzle.

I've often wondered, with the materials and aerodynamic knowledge we have today, if this isn't that needs revisiting.

Well ruger did make the barrel large, I suppose so you can grind that off. :)

Now that's a forward thinking design. I can't think of any other gunmaker that's started putting annoying warnings on the trigger already. I wonder when we'll start seeing dire warnings etched into the sear and hammer.

Holden: ...describe in single words, only the good things that come in to your mind about... your mother.
Leon: My mother?
Holden: Yeah.
Leon: Let me tell you about my mother...

COP 357, four barrel .357 Derringer, after I saw the movie back in the '80s, I just had to have one.

According to prop people, Decker's gun in that actually had a Charter Bulldog as its basic frame.

Can never forget the machine gun jublees, that the fembots had in the first Austin Powers movie!

Savage Model 24C "Camper's Companion"

Here is an auction for a gun identical to mine:

http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=6834210

The forend pulls off (no tools required), and then you break open the action to take the gun apart. I inherited mine; it was mounted on a wall for decades so the matching case is long gone. It's not in perfect shape, so it's a shooter. I haven't shot it much, but I plan on it being my rabbit gun come next season, so it will get some range time.

SIGHTS? THINK ABOUT IT...

Hunter Rose, about the missing sight:

1.) With or without sights, you KNOW the user is gonna' miss/fail anyway.

2.) If you are looking down the barrel from 6" away, and you can see the shiny nose of the bullet.... (Refer to #1 above.)

Put a note in the crate that Soviet mass charges work well with this weapon. (ie man in front has weapon until he falls then next man picks it up..... )

WANT THE PATENT HOLDER'S PHONE NUMBER???

ABOUT THAT POLISH TARGET PISTOL: Did a quick web search. Marvin C. Hewitt, age 86, still at same address in Boulder. Phone number is (305) 530-3893. Someone wanna' call him? Would probably surprise and please him no end to know his toy is the object of so much attention. Why not try to buy his patent, then go have a bunch made to sell at gun shows?

Just noticed on the patent info that it was filed 1970 and had a 7 year term. Does that mean it became available to anyone who wanted it in 1977? Wish I were just 40 years younger.....
