In the reloading room today and just about out of laser cast bullets. Never had any problems with those but I'm thinking about trying out a coated rnfp. Anyone using them and where are the best deals?

I like the coated bullets from Bayou Bullets and from Acme. Did not know the best deals. I look hard at the shipping prices and that sorta dictates how many and when I order.

I use Missouri Bullet Cowboy #15 Hy Tec. they are 158 grain RNFP Hi Tec coated bullets. As you are a THR member you get a 5% discount on your order. Also you can get sample packs of 100 bullets to try before buying a bunch. There are a lot more choices on their site. And if you need some custom sized they can do that as well. I buy a good amount of bullets here and from Rockey Mountain Reloading. The owner of RMR is a member here. (Long Day Jake) and they also offer a discount to THR members as well.

Any coated 158 gr SWC from a reputable company.

Yup. Except the OP wants a RNFP, maybe for a lever action.
Most of the commercial casters use the same Magma casting machines, with the same patterns of molds, very little to choose between them assuming reasonable attention to detail and quality control.
I bet a majority of coated bullets are done with HiTek coating, imported from Australia by Bayou for the industry. Not all, you will find some brands touting their own secret sauce. Blue Bullets use their own mix.

Big +1 on both of these - have shot many thousands of each. FWIW - I think that the Acme coating is a little more consistent but it didn't affect accuracy.

For either there are usually deals you can find when you're ready to buy in quantity - just do a search when you're ready to buy.

Honestly never tried SWC. I know allot of people use them on here. What's the advantage of SWC vs RNFP? I'm only reloading for my revolver not a lever action. Just shooting paper targets and plinking with this gun.

For a revolver I would go with a SWC, cuts nicer holes in the targets than a RN.
MBC has them in both BHN12 (softer) listed for .38 and BHN18 (harder) listed for .357.
I you are loading mild to medium .357 loads you might be happier with the softer BHN12 ones, for med .357 up the harder ones are probably better.

I use the MB HyTec coated bullets in my Python. I use the 158gr LSWC with the 12 BH ( for 38 Spl) since I'm shooting light BE loads with WST. I've got where I prefer the HyTec coating since it's a lot cleaner to deal with. Don't have to deal with the lube building up in the seating die.
12 hardness works well with more powerful loads as well. It is the extreme hardness of Oregon Trail Lasercast that caused a leading problem for me.
