Yep, i know exactly what you are talking about. My Yugo does it too. If you pull the trigger at just the right moment as you pull back the BC it locks up against the hammer, I stumbled across this while dry firing. Although just now I pulled out the Yugo to have a look at the BHO function and "noticed" that if I push pretty hard on the bc it releases. Found that out sort of by accident, I doubt its good for the rifle. As long as you don't force it out of the "lock" by accident like I just did, then I doubt its harmful and I agree that its pretty convenient.

my BIL's wasr-10 does this, older guy at the range showed him when I was getting lippy and telling my BIL he should have bought a saiga because it has a bolt hold open along with better accuracy. not fun to eat crow.
my converted .308 saiga will do this, as will the non converted saiga 109. the non converted saiga in 7.62x39 won't

i know what you mean... but NO, try to do it and... if you get it right (need practice) even if you tap it or press the trigger it will not go forward, plus you wont be able to press the trigger unless you pull the bolt back again

Before you posted this, i didnt get a chance to respond because i had to go to work, but i was messing around with my WASR-10 again, and was able to duplicate what you described. It was completely by accident. I dont know why i never noticed it before. I guess i need to spend more time tinkering with my guns :)

It is as you described. The bolt stays back without moving. No slight movements or trigger pulling will allow the bolt to move. The trigger stays in the rear-most position too. Kinda cool. Thanks!
