Watching next year's sausage

Man, that's a lotta hogs!

I wish I had a farmer with a hog problem near me, I'd be happy to put several down and run them down to the butcher for sausage, ribs and ham!

Stay safe!

I have a number of members that never see a hog. I would rather they were harvested when they are a bit larger.
at least you can shoot them, we in new york cant, tho if i see a pig in the woods it's diner. they just had some sika deer escape one county up, would love to see that out hunting.

You can't shoot feral hogs in NY? There are no regs here, but if I ever run across one of those invasive buggers in the woods here I will kill it with a rock if that is all I have on hand.

nope they made it illegal, i'm guessing because ny own the animals, but they wont pay for the damage there animals do,

Well, that goes hand in hand with the rest of the thought process there. I am not referring to you, by any means. Mostly the people that live in that concrete jungle up there, and voted that moron girl, into office.

yup we need to push the city out to sea and end it all. in less then 50 years we went from the sportsman state to what we have now.

Amazing. It is borderline criminal for them to turn a blind eye to pig population dynamics and what that can mean for the ecosystem of the state. The state of Colorado is fully focused on trying to keep the danged things from getting established here, at least as far as I can tell.

From what a Missouri resident tells me, it's illegal to hunt hogs there too. He said the game dept. didn't want to educate the hogs by having 'amateurs' botching the job. Instead, their cadre of hog professionals will surely prevail and rid the state of the dreaded menace .. or words to that effect.

Since when did a bureaucracy do anything right?

WAIT...., here's an idea...., we declared part of VA and MD a "District"...the "District of Columbia", and then the VA part was given back to VA. Why don't we declare New York City, the burroughs and such, a "District" too? The District of New York City...give them independence from the rest of the state? ;) That city determines the crap for the whole state and who gets the Electoral College Votes..., BUT if they were to become like DC..., Then they could vote their own silly laws and policies, without harming there rest of The Empire State's citizens, but lose their national government votes. AND it would nullify them as controlling the electoral college votes from NY, because DC has electoral college votes specifically under the 23rd Amendment, NOT because it's the only "district". THEY like determining the fate of an entire state from their city, watch them whine when the country determines that they no longer can do that and only have a say inside their huge town....Albany would never go for it though...., as the NY Governor gets his power from NYC :(

Translation the chosen hog-hunters there are getting paid good bucks for erradication, which of course translates into redirecting some of that money, tax money paid to the hog-hunters, into donations to politicians and/or cash to officials in an "unrecorded and unseen manner".....

They should humanely trap them and place them in a habitat where they won't get bothered. I'm thinking central park, the 9.9 acres where the governor's mansion is located (after proper fencing is installed) and any private land owned by bloomberg.

I disagree with state law on wild boars. The state wants to trap them instead because shooting them is allegedly going to create more, smaller populations that scatter. So the state thinks that they can trap the entire population at once. Don't think that works out well. If the pigs can learn from being shot at what makes them think that they won't learn how to avoid traps.

Three was talk a few years ago about making NYC it's own state. I would approve that in an instant. Let's see how well it does on its own with zero tax dollars from the rest of the state, no agriculture, having to import water and all other necessities.

Not taking up up for the state, a bit, but they do not learn the snares! You just have to learn a pig trail from a deer trail, and a few other significant details.

All fine and well, but if I ever see one here where I hunt it will be dead pretty quickly.
