A reporter from WBAL11 here in Maryland did a short, very unbiased blurb on the AWB expiration:
A rep from Valley Guns (Parkville, MD) was interviewed, he pulled out a preban Colt AR15 (A1 guards, birdcage, bayonet lug, fixed stock, he explained it was made before the ban and was still available for purchase) and pointed out the bayonet lug and flash hider, explaining they were only cosmetic features and that after Monday, we can have the features added to guns purchased during the ban without those features.
The Cease Fire rep was speechless when the reporter told him what the dealer said about the features being purely cosmetic! (The reporter spoke to them seperately) It was hilarious, the guy kept tripping over his tongue finally eeking out "the ban is not cosmetic, there are more issues, there are 17 to 20 guns that were actually banned, they were not just cosmetic features."
Of course, the reporter didnt mention the 8 day waiting period and extra paperwork for "assault rifles" in Maryland. Oh well, still a win for us.
