Writing congressional members is good but it doesn't affect the leftist media. The media only exists because businesses pay for advertising on their program/network. We need to start e-mailing/writing to these sponsors pointing out how the media offends many consumers with their leftist bias and that the sponsor is tainted by that. Tell them that you use their product and it is a fine product but their support of the media offends you. Don't threaten boycotts because everyone does that and it really doesn't work. Look at how the media has brought pressure on companies, especially ones that sell guns and gun related equipment, we need to put the same pressure on the sponsors. When the media starts having sponsors complain about their leftist bias and threaten to stop advertising then there will be change.

Businesses make business decisions. They advertise on certain media because they've figured that it's the best way to get their message out. There are not enough gun activists to sway this calculus. In fact there may be more antigun activists right now.

I don't know about that. There may be more vocally active and media prodded, anti-gun mouths running... But I do not believe that there are more of them than us.
Conservative gun owners just tend not to be so loud and in your face about their opinions.

Which I think is the point of the OP.

They use media and "threats" against businesses to fuel their agenda, and perhaps we should get our butts in gear and do the same.

Sorry, but an OP that frames the question in terms of 'leftist' media is not productive. If one wants to take appropriate action against folks who are anti RKBA that is all well and good. However, wandering off that line to other political 'hot' terms is not our focus.

Please review the Activism forum rules.

We're supposed to be presenting clear plans of action that other members can emulate. How to accomplish a goal instead of a what recognition of a goal. This is a good "what", but it isn't a "how" to identify and target advertisers to put pressure on them.

Activism Discussion can garner help from others to take a good what to a functional how and posting pieces like this there is in line.
