I have an unaltered .455 Webley No. 1 Mk VI that I believe was made in 1918 as it is stamped '18 on the barrel. Can anyone confirm this?

Is there any list of the serial numbers and/or production stats on this pistol?

This is one of my favorite guns and shoots beautifully. Only problem is finding .455 ammo!

I also have 3 MK IV models in .38 caliber, including the 100th anniversary commemorative issue made in 1978 in wooden presentation box with paperwork (unfired). The other two are 1944 guns. Much easier to find ammo for!!!

I also have a Webley WWI Brass Flare Gun.

I guess I just like Brit guns!!!

.455 Webley revolver ammo is available and is made by both Fiocchi and Hornady. Do a Google search on "455 Webley ammunition" for suppliers. If necessary, cases can be made from .45 Colt or .45 Auto Rim cases by trimming down the rim from the front and then trimming the case to length. Keep handloads in the .45 Colt or .45 Schofield range; do NOT use .45 ACP loading data.

I sure hope you will post photos of your magnificent Webleys.

Speaking of magnificent Webley's, here's my MKII from 1896 with old ivory stocks. The MKII is the first smokeless powder version.

It's a fair shooter, though the impact is a few inches left of aim.

A trick I have used is to slightly open the rear sight to the right (thus moving the center of the notch right) and epoxying a shim to the left side of the front sight, making it fit the wider notch and moving its center left.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't think it's a good idea to file away anything on an antique. I only shoot this once in a great while, and when I do I just hold a little to the right. A beer can at twenty yards is still in serious trouble!
