do any of my fellow revolver shooter/hunters have a Weigand mount on a Ruger Blackhawk and how satisfied are you with it. I am fixin to mount these on a Blackhawk Bisley .45 colt and a .357 mag. probably gonna go with red dot scopes for hunting hogs and wondering how they stand up to recoil from hot loads.

I have had one of the bases on my Blackhawk for about 6 months. I did have to remove and reinstall the base as I did not follow the instructions the first time. It works great now.

I just put one on an SBH with a Vortex Sparc red dot. Planning to use it for deer season this year. It has turned out very nice. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a chance to sight it in.

If it is a drill and tap mount, you are probably good to go.

If your 45 colt Bisley is one of the SBH Hunter models, I would call them up and ask them to replace the steel roll pins in the mount with solid ones. I have a 44M SBH Bisley hunter and after about 300 heavy loads, the pins collapsed, allowing the entire mount to shift forward. The replacement with the sold steel pins is only about 100 rounds in, so the jury is still out on the fix.

it is a drill and tap mount, got it in today and already got it on a Blackhawk .357/9mm convertible, got a red dot in my safe I am gonna mount this evening and hope to be killing hogs with it this week. the mount looks really stout and I think I am gonna be happy. next one will be on the Bisley and it is a regular Blackhawk, 7 1/2 barrel.

If you find a holster you like for a Blackhawk with optics mounted, please let us (me) know.

I have seen some holsters, but they look really large and impractical, Iprefer my revolvers on my hip,a scoped one will will just stay handy in my pickup or jeep to pick up when necessary.
