Having read several articles on the new Hornady cartridge, 6.5 Creedmoor, and having read with interest several other articles praising the new Ruger Precision Rifle, and having wandered into a LGS that claimed to be able to get one for me, I went and ordered an RPR in 6.5 CM. Am waiting with bated breath for its delivery. BTW, the LGS took 'way less than the MSRP for the rifle. Now I just am hoping that Ruger has put on a 3rd shift making the darn things, so's I get one before Heck freezes over.

Any comments on 6.5 CM or on the RPR? Has anyone actually fired one of these (supposedly) awesome rifles???

I've been shooting a Creedmoor rifles for several years. I've actually got a Ruger 1V in Creedmoor. Great round and very pleasant to shoot. You'll enjoy I'm sure.

I have a Savage 12 LPR in 6.5 CM, great rifle. One of my regrets is two or three days after I bought mine, Ruger announced their LPR in 6.5 CM :fire: That's life I guess.

I've seen two of these at the range I frequent, they appear to be Ruger-built (ie. strong as ever) and quite refined. I paid more attention to the first one I saw. The owner put up a pretty darn impressive first group at 100 then the groups opened up a bit, but all within the MOA'ish. He was beating himself up more than I figured he should but he must have very high expectations.

The second one I saw the guy was having a bit of trouble getting the rifle and scope in sync, I ran out of time to see how he did once he got it locked in.

Just from what I got to see and handle, I wouldn't even think twice about buying one. Not that I have any regrets about owning the Savage.

Congrats BTW!

I've got one on backorder in 6.5 Creedmoor also. Great cartridge choice in my opinion.

Thanks...

for the prompt replies. Seems like 6.5 CM is the way to go, and the longer the distance to the target, the greater becomes that advantage.

I believe that the 6.5 diameter bullet has some kind of magic mojo to it. I have a 6.5 Swede and 5 different 6.5 Arisaka rifles and carbines, they all make me look like a good marksman. There is just something about that diameter I think....
