Well I told myself after buying a gun off GunBroker and having issues with the gun I wouldn't do it again. The seller had a few thousand good ratings and I still ended up with a gun that didn't function properly. I got lucky since it was a Ruger. Sent it in and ruger fixed it on their dime, all I paid for was shipping to them, not bad for a gun made in 93 , and I had got it for a good price.

Anyways. I've been watching a whole bunch of 44mags on GB. I decided I wanted a longish barrel 44. 7.5" RedHawks where on the top of my list. Hit up a gun store up about 45 min away today to do some handling.luxkily they ad 2x 4", a 5.5" and a 7.5" RedHawk After handling them I decided the that I indeed wanted the 7.5" ,but not for the $899 they where asking.

I already had a few cheaper ones on my GB watch list anyways. So after dinner, a few beers and a movie with the woman tonight I decided to surf GB. Found a 7.5" Redhawk that looked to be in good shape with 20 min remaining. I put in a bid not expecting to win .Check again about 25 min later and I won, $551 shipped. Can't complain about that price I suppose. Anyways down the rabbit hole I go! Let's see how this one plays out .

Nice price! Here's hoping everything goes okay with this latest GB purchase!

Photos requested when you finally get it home.
I'm hoping it pans out well! I've ended up with two used rugers that had to be shipped to the mothership. But only paid shipping to Ruger on the one and they came back good as new. So if it does have an issue I have faith it will be taken care of for minimal costs.

The 6 shot .357 grail gun? She's a beut!
Thats the one, thanks!:D

Strangely, I was at the Sarasota gunshow today and the same fella I got the 7.5" from was there again with a vintage 5.5" .357......go figure. He was asking 9, and I was tempted, but I already picked up two guns this week and my wallet was pretty light.

The only thing I ended up getting was a K-frame speedloader out of a $1 bin, lol.

 That’s not a bad deal on the .44 at all! I bought a 7.5” .41 for $450.00 (that included tax and paperwork) about two years ago only because it was languishing on the consignment rack with the owner asking $750 bucks at a police-oriented gun store. It was there for over three months... I know this because I bought two other guns from the store as it sat there....calling out to me.

None of the younger coppers buying the latest M&P/Glock/1911 etc. wanted a .41 so I offered $450 OTD cash now, the store called the seller and it was done.

(I really wanted a 5.5” .41 but beggars can’t be choosers.) Now I’d love a 4” 57 to complement it :)

Stay safe!

Now that's a sweet deal! There's some benefits to not being caught up in the latest and greatest crowd!

Gun arrived at my FFL today. Scratches here and there .Nice double action trigger, single action is a bit heavy.. forcingcone looked good, no lead in the barrel, lock up is ok not the tightest I've seen. All in all not to shabby. Especially for what o paid. Grain I. The grips is nice too. Snapped a quick shot of it, will take better pics when I get it home. Have to drop paper work off at the clerk and have him send it to the judge so should hopefully have it by Friday.

Got my Redhawk home tonight can't wait to shoot it. Here's a few pics.

It WILL be the last gun a buy for a while. Found out Monday I got a little one on the way (my first!) so priorities have shifted!

Edit to add: I ran a few patches through it and they came out pretty dang clean. Shined a light in the cylinder and there is like
no carbon build up at all behind the the throats. Either this thing was barely shot or cleaned very well cause that stuff can be ridiculous to get out.

I measured the SA trigger pull at 5.5lbs and double was approx 9lbs (my cheap Gage goes to 8). But the innards where pretty dry. Poped off the grips lubed it up and worked the action a bunch. DA is about the same but a little smoother and SA dropped to 5lbs. Not great but for what I got in this thing, I'm super happy.
