You will like it! Mine is a blued 16", and it's my favorite pistol-caliber lever gun by far.
If you want to rid yourself of the top safety lever and add a metal magazine follower to replace the plastic one: Steves Gunz is where to go.

Mine is an older version in 44-40. I love it.
Definitely look at installing a Gunslinger spring kit.

I have its twin in 44mag. 16" stainless steel.
I've been saying it for years, absolutely great brush gun for deer. Lighter and easier handling and shooting than a 45-70 or even a 30-30. Plenty of thump within iron sight range.
Mines put plenty of venison in the freezer, may yours do the same!

I've got a Rossi 16" 357mag, and a 20" 44mag, both blued. Great shooting guns, IMHO.
I added a Marbles tang peep sight to the 357, and got the NOE scope mount and Weaver 4x scope on the 44mag.

Sweet! Have never seen a stainless steel version; would go great with my stainless Vaquero! Love my large loop 16" carbine, also in .45 Colt, to go along with my three revolvers also chambered for that cartridge.

well I took this out yesterday morning and wow this rifle loved my reloads I make for my two heritage big bore revolvers which are in 45 colt the best ole cartridge around 
held very tight groups and only needed a slight adjustment to the left elevation was spot on!

well took this rifle back out today and shot it some more with my reloads and she shoots very well and the action out of the box is smooth and no jams or issues! I am in love with this rifle!
