Media Day - 1/16/12

IMG_0249-550x412.jpg

Yesterday we were down at the range for Media Day. We were able to get our hands on a few awesome guns which you can take a look at after the jump: Media Day Recap Live from the Range for SHOT Show 2012.

Here are a few pictures from the day. You can see the rest of the pictures at the SHOT Show Media Day Photo Gallery:

Gatling Gun - One of the coolest things we saw! Sadly, we weren't able to shoot it...you won't believe how long the line for that one was.

The KRISS .45 ACP Submachine Gun

But now for the main event: today is the official start of SHOT Show! We will be tweeting live from the floor today which you can follow here: Our Twitter Feed.

Today is going to be an intense day. We're lined up to talk with Bushnell, Uncle Mike's, Leupold, Vortex, Safariland, Surefire, FOBUS, ATN and Burris. So keep an eye out for updates at GearExpert.com.

Day 1 Recap of SHOT Show

Our first day at SHOT was extremely busy. We met with a great many vendors such as Bushnell, Leupold, Safariland, Fobus, Surefire, ATN, Vortex, Steiner, Burris and Uncle Mike’s, to name a few…We will provide more details on what we talked about in a later post, but for now we have a new photo gallery up which you can see here: SHOT Show Day One Photo Gallery!

Here is a sneak peak at a few things you can expect to see on GearExpert.com in the next few days...

IMG_0393-550x412.jpg

One thing that really caught our eye was ATN's thermal scope, THOR. We thought it was pretty awesome and will provide a more in-depth look at it in our future posts! Trust us, words doesn't do it justice.

Burris is releasing the Eliminator III in the spring and we can assure you that our product specialists are going to be all over it. It ranges up to 1200 yards and the BDC works no matter what the magnification.

IMG_0262-550x412.jpg

Bushnell is coming out with a new line of HD trail cameras with a bunch of different features.

IMG_0265-550x412.jpg

Simmons also has a few trail cameras coming out ranging from 4MP to 7MP.

Also, of you want to know more about the gear we saw at the range on Media Day, check out our newest post: SHOT Show Media Day Products from KRISS, Trijicon and EOTech! Read about our first impressions on the EOTech XPS2-Z Zombie Stopper Holographic Weapon Sight, KRISS Super V Vector SMG .45 ACP and Trijicon TARS (Tactical Advanced RifleScope).

Day 2 Recap of SHOT Show

Hello everyone! To read the full recap of Day 2, read our newest blog: SHOT Show Day 2 New Products!. We've also put up a new photo gallery: SHOT Show Day 2 Photos!

Here's a small summary of what we saw on Day 2 at SHOT:

DSCN0718-960x720.jpg

Weaver is coming out with a new line of scopes--the Kaspa. It comes in just about every magnification imaginable, and ranges from $150 to around $400.

DSCN0740-960x720.jpg

5.11 Tactical is known for their durable tactical clothing and will be coming out with new pants and bags. The pants are made with a stretchy fabric which are sure to be comfortable and allow maximum movement.

DSCN0758-412x550.jpg

GunVault is coming out with an awesome new line called the SpeedVault. You punch in your code or use your fingerprint and the vault immediately pops your gun out at a 45 degree angle. You'll be able to lock and load in about 2.5 seconds.

DSCN0765-960x720.jpg

So in addition to the TARS that we saw at Media Day, Trijicon has the SRS, the battery ACOG that uses only a single AA battery.

DSCN0768-960x720.jpg

We saw a bunch of holsters by Galco, including a few new products, but more on that later.

DSCN0733-960x720.jpg

BLACKHAWK is coming out with a full line of tactical clothing designed from the ground up for women.

As for the products we mentioned in our Day 1 Recap, here is a closer look at some of them: Live from the Convention Floor – Day 1 Recap for SHOT Show 2012.

Tomorrow is the last day of SHOT, it'll be bitter sweet. We'll be providing more updates in the next few days and we'll finally get a chance to sit down and write more in-depth review about what we saw. See you then!

Like this? This has been in the market for 3 years now but with a mechanical push button lock and 3/16" steel construction.

Yours is better by a mile! Ever look into a booth at SHOT?
Thank you. Yes I have looked into it and it is always sold out way in advance. The cost is out of my budget and since I sell direct and not looking for distribution it's probably not for me right now. I prefer to put the money in the product and offer an American made product of good quality instead. Thanks again for the compliment.

Kind of...the vault we were talking about looks like this (we accidentally featured another line of vaults in our earlier post). It's a pretty compact vault that you can mount anywhere ie a desk, nightstand, or bed frame. There are two different models, the one with fingerprint detection and this one that uses codes.

Day 3 of SHOT Show

We just posted a new blog about day 3 of SHOT: SHOT Show Day 3 Video Roundup and Products from Pelican, EOTech, Nikon & More! And we also have a new photo gallery: SHOT Show Day 3 Photos! Yesterday we visited the booths of EOTech, Nikon, Crimson Trace, Streamlight and Pelican.

So check out the full post for more detail, but here are a few pictures to wet your appetites:

We met the first season winner of Top Shot, Iain Harrison, at the Crimson Trace booth! We saw their Rail Master Laser Sight, a small and lightweight universal laser sight.

DSCN0822-960x720.jpg

At first look the Pelican Hybrid Traveler looks like any other backpack/luggage. On closer inspection, the Hybrid Traveler is both a hard case and a soft case. The hard case is waterproof and perfect for storing delicate equipment, while the soft case has plenty of foam padding and ventilation.

DSCN0860-960x720.jpg

The Nikon P223 3X32 BDC Compact Scope is a simple (two piece mounting system), but effective scope for AR-style rifles.

DSCN0838-960x720.jpg

The Streamlight TLR-4 is a weapon light and laser sight. It’s small, but it delivers 110 lumens of light.

DSCN0911-960x720.jpg

Take care of those pesky walking dead trampling all over your lawn with the EOTech XPS2-Z Zombie Stopper Holographic Weapon Sight.

Although the 2012 SHOT Show has come to an end, we’ll be releasing all of the material we gathered the next few days including videos, interviews and more! So stay tuned.
