What .22 Rifle For Me?

It turns out that this .22 "Whisper" ($100) http://www.centerfiresystems.com/ind...OD&ProdID=1015 is the same as a TOZ-78-1. I think I am going to get it. I have read some good reviews and the price is really good. So this is a bolt action, magazine fed, rifle? This means I have to cock it every shot correct?

Before I order I have some questions...

- What ammo does the TOZ-78-1 like out of the box?

- What is a good budget scope?

- Can I buy a silencer/suppressor for it?

Suppressors ain't cheap in the US, and they require a $200 Federal tax stamp. In some states, they're outright illegal.

Are you in the US? In the UK, I understand they're common and unregulated. Or at least, not regulated beyond the restrictions on the firearm itself.

Yeah, you have to operate the bolt to eject the spent round and bring a new one into the chamber. You will have to experiment with ammo to find the one that is most accurate. Why not begin by developing some skill with the iron sights? Every rifle doesn't need a scope. Later you can choose from many scopes across wide price ranges. A Simmons .22 mag would be good for starters. Why do you think you want a suppressor? It will cost a lot and if you need to keep noise down there is ammo that is much quieter than .22lr high speed.

Forget the suppressor now. I didn't know it had that hefty tax. I plan to shoot a few thousand rounds with no scope, just the iron sights before I make a decision if I really need a scope or not. I was just asking to see what kind of prices I will be looking at.
